Three Tips to Maximize the Benefits of your Functional Integration®

People ask how best to maintain the improvements they experience from a Feldenkrais session. The following are 3 tips to maximize your benefits from an FI:



1. Wear comfortable clothing that you can move easily in.


2. If you are mobile, budget 10-15 minutes after your session to take a walk to integrate your lesson. Allow your arms, head, and neck be as free as possible to participate fully in your walk. That ideally means no heavy bags or holding a phone to your ear while walking.


3. Rest or nap if possible and/or go about your normal activities. You may feel significantly better after your session. One thing not to do: If you’re not already a runner in the habit of running 5 miles, don’t start that day. You may feel so much better that you’d like to have a go at something you wouldn’t usually do. This can backfire so be sure to be kind to your body and listen to it, without going overboard doing things out of the ordinary.
